THE BLING

billy and i have been engaged for almost 9 months now!
that time has literally flown by!!

we are currently planning a very tiny wedding ceremony followed by an open house type reception which we plan to have in my parent's backyard.
the word reception overwhelms billy so he just calls it a party!

since my engagement ring has a thin band i plan to get 2 wedding bands.
here is a picture of my ring with the bands.
i'll have one on the top and one on the bottom.
i can not wait to be wearing them!
i think they are so beautiful!!

billy has never worn a ring before.
he knows he wants something simple.
he is thinking something like this.
a contemporary tungsten ring.
i really like the look of it.
there are also new unique ceramic wedding bands
that he liked the look of as well.
for some extra added bling
i want blue "I DO" rhinestones on the bottom of my shoes.
something like this....

i don't care for the font of the "I" on these rhinestones
so i am going to make my own!
they will be blue for my something blue.

that's enough bling for one day ;)
hope everyone is having a great week so far!!

  1. OMG, I LOVE your ring!! Gorgeous! And I replaced my hubby's wedding ring for our 10 year anniversary with a Tungsten ring and he LOVES it. Won't scratch, bend, break... which is great for him, b/c his other one was horribly scratched up.

  2. I love your ring! It's very similar to mine and I soldered them together. I hope that hubs buys me a second thin diamond band to go on top for an anniversary of ours or when I get my doctorate!

As for Billy's ring, I love the first ring. It's very similar to what I got my husband, except his has three small diamonds on three of the "squares". It's tungsten and he loves it, there's NO scratches on it at all despite all the work on the car he does and all the guitar playing and the move and and and and! They're awesome and look GORGEOUS on a man's hand!

  3. I LOVE your rings. SO pretty. My husband got a tungsten ring- and it is so thick!! It hurts his fingers. After NEVER wearing it because it was so Uncomfortable, we got something else, way smaller, and cheaper! I wish he had worn the tungsten ring for more than the 30 seconds trying it on before we spent the money on it! So tell Billy to really try it out first! My friend's husband has a tungsten ring, but it is way, way thinner, so I guess that doesnt hurt as much...

  20. You will like the double band! I have a very slim band on my engagement ring and it was hard to find the right band to match. I have 2 pink stones on both sides of my solitaire and I wish I would have found 2 bands with pink! :) haha!

Love your rings..hubby has a tungsten ring and it is great! :)

AND LOVE the "I DO" in rhinestone... will be a cute pic!

  21. Love the rings. :) All of them. :) Though Billy's first one looks better. I see lots of guys wearing the ceramic darker ones and they just look not right. Not sure. :S And ya know what? I had the same idea...still do actually...with the shoes. I always wanted I DO written underneath my sexy but comfy heels. ;) Maybe not necessarily in blue. ;) That goes somewhere else on my list so you're fine...you can have that. LOL Seriously, absolutely love the idea and if you can don't hesitate...do it!!! :) Little things like that are the best about parties/ceremonies/receptions/weddings/whatevers... :)

Have a great day hun. :)

  31. A) Your rings are completely gorgeous! B) I love those "I Do" sparkles, I think it's such a fun touch. I agree that "I" doesn't look much like an I...I think I'd intervene and reshape it a bit too :)

  33. My husband and I got married almost exactly 3 years ago. He had never worn any jewelery before but loves his tungsten ring. He got a brushed finish on it, so it looks a bit more like the ceramic ring pic you posted. The only disadvantages are 1. if it need to be resized for some reason, the jeweler has to send it to the manufacturer because it is too hard for him to cut in house and 2. it is not really engravable because it is so hard.
However, my husband works with his hands with his job, sometimes, and his co-workers have had their rings dented and misshaped and he has never had so much as a scratch. Plus, the ring was pretty affordable!

  34. Love the ring! And 2 bands right off the bat...you lucky girl!! My hubby is making me wait for my second one!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I love your ring! The bands will add so much bling! Once I added my wedding band it was like 'pow'!! Now the ring has new sparkle and glitz...I think that for our 5 year anni I will add another band on top! (better tell huns to start saving..haha)!
Ryan has a tungsten ring...it looks more like the one in your second picture. It is the 'brushed' look. He really seems to like it. They are super reasonable too! He was like, we could get me 50 rings for the price of your ONE! haha

  40. Your rings are beautiful!! The second guys ring looks very similar to my hubs and he's not a jewelery wearing type of guy either but he loves his ring. He uses his hands a lot so we got him Tungsten which doesn't scratch it's awesome!
