THANK YOU to everyone who left me a comment yesterday!
i feel so loved :) ya'll are so thoughtful and had the sweetest things to say, thank you so very much. i knew if i wrote out what i felt and at least heard someone's opinion i would feel better and wow do i ever! i feel like i have people to reach out to for help now if need be, thanks to those of you who offered assistance, so kind of you. between all you wonderful ladies, my billy, my besties and my mom i'm sure everything will work out perfect in the end!
i know until we set a date and make plans, i'll continue to constantly get those same questions (when, where, why) from people i work with, family, friends....and until then i'll just continue to say we are enjoying being engaged. which is totally true!
b and i know the day we get married is all about us and devoting our lives together. that is the reason we want to have a small intimate wedding. i think our first option right now would be to get married in my parents backyard and have a reception somewhere local including friends and other family. i love the idea of having appetizers and cocktails instead of the 5 course meal. the other option, that i have a feeling my mom would be against, would be getting away somewhere just the two of us, getting married, coming back and having a reception. of course we will have lots of photos no matter what we decide to do.
i will keep everyone posted as we figure things out. thanks for all the support you lovely girlies, i really appreciate it!
edit - sticking with thankful thursday, for this week.....i'm incredibly thankful for all of you!

Y'all will figure out the timing and type of wedding that works for you. There's usually some kind of compromise involved and you'll find one that's a perfect fit. And there's always Vegas if all else fails :-) In the meantime, continue to enjoy your engagement!
Either way you go... all that matters is that you are married and have made that promise to each other.:)
It will be beautiful no matter what! I hope you ate a cookie or the whole damn bag! Ha! xoxo
I'm in the same boat as you. I'm not officially engaged yet but I know we are getting married next June! I feel like a destination wedding will be easier and less expensive but I also feel like one day I will regret it. We are also paying for the entire wedding ourselves which can hold you back at times! Enjoy your engagment... I keep telling myself everything will work out!
wait, wait, wait... i feel like i've missed a big previous post! and if its what i think it is.. then EEEEEK!K!K!K!K!!!!!!!! okay i shall go back and read your last posts! hehe!
oaky so never mind! haha! you've been engaged for three months, i just wasn't here when it was announced! enjoy your engagement annie! i'm currently helping my brother plan out his and you know what? things will just come together! and im sure you've got a great support system around you :)
I'm sure whatever you decide will be great! :)
Good luck! I'm sure you'll be happy whatever you choose!
at the end of the day, it is about you and what you want, love. we were engaged for almost 2 years. we did not have a penny. husband was still in law school. we had no clue. we just knew we would do it in New Orleans. I say, do something tiny and then have a party. Bc saying party instead of wedding gets you lots of things cheaper! ;)
When Jorden and I got married we had a hard time getting our parents to settle down and remember that its OUR day! in the end there were still a few things they would not let happen -dancing- which is something we both really wanted. Anyway, needless to say, stand strong in what you guys really want because thats what matters and its your memories of it that matter the most!
i'm all for a cocktails and appetizers reception because 1. it's cheaper, 2. you get to wander around and meet and greet and 3. your not stuck at a table with a bunch of randoms! :)
def enjoy the engagement period (for as long as you want!) :)
I wish you the best of luck girlie! Just forget about what anyone else thinks and do what YOU (and B) want to do...it will be your special day and you should have it the way you want it. :) Hugs!
It will be a day to remember no matter what. I had a really big wedding with all the bells and whistles and honestly the next month when my friend got married in a small intimate ceremony I was so jealous. It was such a stressful time for me with all the planning and she got to really enjoy it with the people who really mattered. Do what feels right and you won't regret it!
You two are the cutest couple!! Just read your post below. In the end, the ONLY thing that matters is the part where you say "I Do". Good luck, and have fun in the planning process, no matter what you end up deciding!
I'm thankful for you too! Have a great day!
I am SO thankful for you too!! Whatever you decide will be perfect! I agree with Brown Girl...where are the cookies?! :)
it IS "all about YOU and devoting YOUR lives" to each other...you have suh a good outlook on this! it is all about the marriage, not the wedding! BUT whatever and whenever you decide...it will be PERFECT :)
I am sure your wedding will be beautiful no matter what! Just do what you want to do!! I think I would rather have appetizers and cocktails too instead of big 5 course meal. Or I wouldn't mind having fajita's, chips, and salsa! Ha!
You wedding will be amazing, I am sure of it! If you have any questions with wedding planning...I just finished ours and would love to help. We actually went away and had a small intimate wedding w/ our family and best friends. We came back and had a party for everyone else to celebrate. Whatever you decide though, as long as you two are happy...that's what counts!
Your wedding with be gorgeous! It should be what you want and no matter what happens, at the end of the day you guys will be married and that is all that matters!!
tagged you on my blog for something fun!!
Happy thursday!!
oh, these ideas are PERFECT!!! simply perfect! either one will be sure to make you happy!
i can't wait to hear more about your perfect day. it already sounds amazing.
Ya'll are adorable and no matter where you end up having it, when, or what ya do you still have the guy! That's all that matter....and getting pics of it(the wedding) for us to see of course!
HA! I read and posted down below before I read this post.. SO true! You do have the right mind :) Everything will come together perfectly!
I'm glad you feel better about everything!
Im sure it will be awesome no matter what you decide!!! Cant wait to find out how it goes! Hope you have a great rest of the week! = )
Thanks for the sweet comment on my blog :)
I definitely think saying that you are enjoying being engaged is a good answer! Some people are just in a hurry, and it's okay to not know everything! My B and I aren't quite to the point of getting engaged, and I know it's annoying when people ask me what we're waiting for... We just aren't in a hurry! And that's okay!
Lots of luck figuring out something that works for the two of you!
*hugs*
that's all. ;)
What about running away someplace awesome, you, B and both your immediate families? You can then come home and have a reception--maybe that would fly well with your Mama.
so glad you're having a better day!! why do weddings have to be so stressful?
I am so glad you are having a better day! Definitely keep us updated. Really the only thing that matters is the two of you are there, the minister and a witness or two :)
But having a small ceremony & then a backyard reception sounds like it would be really fun. most people I talk to say they wish they would have kept it simpler and not as out of control :)
Hello, I really wanted to leave you a comment to say how much I've enjoyed reading your posts. You have some great pictures too.
Thank you for sharing your writing and pics - very generous !!
You'll get married in your own time that works for the two of you! After all, I don't think 3 months before starting planning is all that long--I'm in a wedding this dec where my friend and her fiance have been engaged over 4 years!!
thanks for coming by my blog and following! :)
Thank you for the comments! You are very sweet.
No matter what you decide for a wedding you will make a beautiful bride and I'm sure it will be a gorgeous day. Good luck with everything. Don't let it stress you out, it will be the best day of your life!

Awww, girl..... love ya!!! :)
take a deep breath and relax...it will get done in time...
it is all about your love for each other....
Hi there...just came over here from Lucky in Love. As a recent newlywed (well okay, not that recent anymore...it's been almost a year!), I thought I would offer my two cents. Breathe, relax, and enjoy the planning. Because when it gets stressful and yucky, it's not fun anymore - and who wants that??! If, in your heart, you want a small wedding, then DO IT for sure. You don't want to be pulled in different directions and end up with the wedding someone else wants for you.
And always remember that, in the end, the wedding is about the marriage...no matter what the day is like, you will be getting married! And as it gets closer and closer to the wedding date, you'll start to realize that in the end, that's all that matters - way more than flowers or placecards or whatever. :)
hey girly you should totally do my " I realize" tag... you can make it as short as you want, you dont have to make it that long! :)
Happy Friday!!
Come to the blogosphere whenever you need a little "pick-me-up"...you guys deserve a spectacular day and I am sure it will be nothing short of that, no matter what you choose to do!
good luck with all the wedding planning. sometimes weddings are given so much pressure and attention when really its the marriage we're supposed to be celebrating.
Oh, poor thing, are you going through the 'everyone has an opinion on what I should do for my wedding instead of listening to what I want to do'? Man, I hate that.
My husband and I end up getting married by a little stream 45 minutes from here with only two people there. My friends were PISSED. Wouldn't speak to me for a few months. It was ridiculous. No one gets that it's YOUR thing! Big, small, here, there, whatever, do what you want and don't back down!!!
