my weekend as a "single momma"...

long post....
photos taken with phone, my camera was m.i.a. all weekend.
FRIDAY
Took my brother and Dom’s mom to the airport at 4:30 a.m.
D and I came back and played then took a little nap.
Had breakfast and played again.
Then we ran errands for a few hours.
It ended up being a beautiful warm day!
We ate lunch in the suv because we were out n about.
Once home Dom had a 3 hour nap!!
I got some cleaning done and I spray painted a few things.
Snack time after nap.
Then we went to my parent’s house.
We spent a few hours over there, had dinner and played outside the whole time.
Dom is a night owl so we watched the movie Cars at bedtime, it’s his favorite.
He finally fell asleep around 11.
awesome buzz lightyear jammies...
chillin before we run errands...
SATURDAY
Dom slept in until 9:30!!!
I was up at 8:00.
He woke up with a deep cough, I felt so bad for the little guy.
We had plans to meet a friend of mine at 9:30 at an indoor play place, those plans kind of got thrown off.
We ended up eating some cheesy eggs, getting some meds and going to that friend’s house around 11.
She has a little boy who is a year younger than D, so those two played together for a few hours. I think they played cars almost the entire time, they had a great time together.
We had a McDonalds lunch over there, then headed back to my place.
D crashed right away and slept a little over 2 hours.
I decided to take a nap as well ;)
After nap time we went to my parent’s house again.
We all played wii bowling for a few hours.
My dad made us shake-n-bake chicken, corn on the cob and baked potatoes for dinner!
It was delicious!!
We left after dinner and went to my house to play cars and watch Cars, again ;)
Once the movie was over we started watching Toy Story and I could tell D didn’t feel well. It took him a long time to fall asleep. Every time he would fall asleep he would wake himself up because he was so stuffy. He kept crying too, I felt so bad because I was helpless. Then my eyes started watering :( I didn’t want to cry so I held it in, I just felt so bad for him.
He finally fell into a deep sleep just before midnight. He woke up every few hours, just needed a drink of milk and he was back out.

the sea of cars...
i think i cleaned them up about 20 times...
eating chipies...
we ate candy too ;)
dom's cute little footprint he made when crawling into bed...
SUNDAY
We both woke around 8:30 and I could tell D still wasn’t feeling the best.
I took a shower and got ready and he just laid on the bed watching Nemo the entire time.
He wouldn’t eat eggs or any breakfast food so I made him chicken nuggets and mac n cheese at 10 and he ate a little of that for breakfast.
I know Dom looks “big” in his pictures but he is SO tiny, he weighs under 25 pounds!
I try to feed him snacks non-stop through the day when I have him to pack a little weight on him. He loves his whole milk too so he always has a cup of that with him.
He doesn’t have a security blanket or stuffed animal, instead he has a security cup of milk ;)
My brother sent me a text saying their plane would be in at 11:30 so D and I left at 11:25 to go get them.
I hadn’t heard anything by 11:50 when I was almost to the airport so I just hung out in a hotel parking lot untill I heard from them.
D had fallen asleep and got in an hour and a half nap.
It was my parents 29th anniversary yesterday and my mom was flying out to Chicago at 1:30 so we wanted to get to my parent's house by then so we could give them their cards and giftcard for a dinner out and say good bye to my mom.
My brother finally texted me at 12:45 saying they would be landing.
We picked them up at 1:00 and made it to my parent’s house by 1:20….just in time!! Jeesh, talk about cutting it close.

I visited with my sister for a little while, then went home and watched the bridezilla marathon. The excitement from the weekend must have worn me out because I took another nap! ;)
Did any of you watch bridezilla or the “where are they now” episode? Not surprising some of them had gotten divorced.
I only watched part of it because my Billy got home!
I sure missed not having him home, it’s so quiet and lonely without him there.
We spent the rest of the evening together, watching the Stanley cup playoff game and I was looking for ways to style my hair for wedding day, post coming on that soon.

Anywho, I have a whole new respect for single parents! It’s not easy!!! I couldn’t imagine having more than one and not having any help at any time!
I was nervous to even get in the shower for a few minutes. It seemed like I was side by side with D the entire time I had him so stepping away for 5 minutes wasn’t easy.
I’m very thankful my family is so close as well. It was nice to be able to go to my parent’s house and have their help entertaining D. He loves them and was so excited each time we went over there.
dominic's "gussy bear" was with us all weekend too :)
Well this post is probably going in the records for another one of my longest but once again, this blog is a journal of my life :) I write it for me and you to enjoy if you so please ;)

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!!

long post but that's ok :-) Dom is so adorable! It sounds like you two had a great weekend together though. I'm a nanny so I know how stressful it can be sometimes taking care of kids by yourself! Enjoy your week pretty! :-)

I totally hear you on not even wanting to get in the shower! I babysat my 15 month old niece this weekend...only for 6 hours, and I was dragging her with me everytime I went to the bathroom! I had to take a nap after she left! :)
Looks like you had fun with Dom!

It sounds like you did great taking care of him! I'm sure it was tiring-just babysitting a 6 month old for 3 hours wears me out-lol!
