Fixed the newel post!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!!

The past 4 days went way too fast.

Those days off were wonderful!

Thanksgiving Feast was delicious!

We ate a late lunch at my parent's house.

Watched Christmas Vacation and played Mad Gab.

(hilarious game!)

Then went to Billy's sisters for snacks and to play with his niece and nephew.

Then back to my parents house....

We played Tripoly for a few hours.

Neither Billy nor I won.

There was a lot of reminiscing.

A few things were said that maybe were left better unsaid (haha).

I only have a few photos from Thanksgiving day/night.

We always make the dogs their own little plates with all the fixins.

wordless wednesday, notsomuch....

Tell me this is not one of the grossest toilets you have ever seen!?!
I have never had to control my bladder before but honestly I just couldn't use this toilet.
I even sprayed some "scrubless cleaner" in it, it did nothing!!! They didn't have a scrubber!
I should have mentione earlier....this is the toilet from the house I babysat at ALL weekend!! I didn't use it once! Nasty!!!

my weekend was mostly spent with children...

there will not be a next time with that one family...

i babysat for 2 different families this weekend...

i want to think when i have my own kids...

things will be different...

they will have manners...

they will respect their elders...

had 3 little ones who were adorable...

their house was a horrible mess...

i did get to spend around 20 hours with my sister...

i did have a good time on friday night at target...

i did enjoy a beer and appetizers at applebees with billy as well...

i did get to watch desperate housewives last night...

ROSES & THORNS

Hello Lovely Ladies!

Work has been so busy for me lately. I won’t have time to post tomorrow so I’m quickly posting Roses and Thorns today.

* I had the best day off yesterday. Billy and I spent the whole day together which is really rare for us. We ran lots of errands in the morning, ate lunch at Ruby Tuesday, then spent 2 hours at Target! We bought lots of toys, Christmas presents for the kiddos in our life. Buying presents for others is so much fun! After that shopping extravaganza, we went home to rest. Then we went to my parent’s house for dinner. Billy played Scrabble with my parents and I watched Monsters Inc. with Dominic. He was such a ham, love that little dude!
* I ate much better this week.
* I will be going to the gym today and tomorrow, making that 4 days at the gym this week.
* Billy and I have been engaged for 6 months now!! We have not a single plan for a wedding. We are perfectly fine with this, we’re just happy to have each other.
* The hairwraps are taking off slowly on our Etsy site but Billy has worked some magic through hockey associations, selling custom hairwraps like hotcakes! Awesome for us!

* My Dad did not get called back to work :( Please keep him in your T&P's to be called back asap!
* I will be babysitting the entire weekend. I am a little bummed about not having any alone time and not getting much time with my B. The extra $$ will be nice and I will be with my sister so that’s always fun ;)
* Totally behind on blogs but I’ll be catching up tonight and tomorrow. Billy has hockey both nights.

Giddy for Glee

Yep, I am giddy for GLEE!

If you don't care for glee you don't have to read this ;)
I have a slight obsession with this show.
I might have downloaded all their songs on my itouch.
Thanks to the World Series it wasn't on the past two weeks.
I was almost having withdrawals.
Tomorrow night, IT'S BACK!!!
One full hour of drama and teens breaking into song and dance routines, gotta love it!

Last time Billy and I watched this show (he enjoys it as well).
He asked if the "kids" were really singing on the show.
I figured they were really performers and doing their own thang but I wanted to see their credentials ;)
I looked them up and sure enough they are all obviously talented!
They might not be singing live but they all still are great actors.

Matthew Morrison (age 31) plays Will
He has been in Hairspray on Broadway where he got his big break. He has also guest starred in CSI, As the World Turns and Law & Order.

Jessalyn Gilsig (age 37) plays Terri, Will's wife

She has starred in Nip/Tuck and Prison Break and she has had many recurring roles in other shows.

Lea Michele (age 22) plays Rachel

She has been performing on Broadway for a years and also at Radio City Music Hall.

Jayma Mays (age 30) plays Emma

She has been in a few movies, staring in Epic Movie and she has been in numerous tv shows.

Her latest big time movie was Paul Blart: Mall Cop

She worked at the hair stand called Unbeweavable! (made me think of a certain someone!!)
Dianna Agron (age 23) plays Quinn
She has been on a few tv shows such as CSI New York and Veronica Mars.

Corey Monteith (age 27) plays Finn
Corey started out working at Wal-Mart, he has also been a bus driver and a cab driver, who would've guessed that?!
He has had a few appearances on tv shows and movies including Final Destination and Deck the Halls.
I love all the characters in the show although this post is getting long so i'll stop it with those few! If you want to know about more of the cast you can go to the GLEE site!

I have the day off of work tomorrow.
One of my bestie's, Whit, and I were supposed to be together.
We both had the day off and all ducks were in a row for her to spend the night and a day of shopping for tomorrow for us.
Now she has to work, major bummer.
Billy happens to have the day off though.
I have a bunch of errands to run.
Maybe he'll join me....

my weekend...

was quite relaxing...
i feel like all i did was eat, ha...

FRIDAY
cleaned my car inside and out.
went to the gym.
cleaned the house from top to bottom.
billy did end up having hockey.
i watched a new show called platinum babies.
(some people have too much $$)
ate grilled cheese and tomato soup, had an early night to bed.

SATURDAY
after sleeping for 11 hours...
hit the gym...
ate an entire bag of steamed veggies...
did laundry...
relaxed around the house...
then went off to run a few errands...
billy met up with me after work...
we decided to do dinner at a hibachi/sushi bar...
the only sushi i eat is vegetarian...
billy had never had sushi so that's what he ate...

after dinner we went home to make some crafty items...
we had a few lime...
i made the crafts, billy was mostly just sitting beside me.
he is good at keeping me company :)

SUNDAY
slept in...
my bestie came and picked me up...
we went out for lunch at a panini restaurant, delicious...
she brought her little babe with us who is 14 months...
he was our entertainment...
he is the happiest little guy ever!
after lunch she came over and we just hung out and played toys...
they left and i had a headache most of the morning/afternoon so i decided to nap...
naps help everything :)

after my delightful nap i went to my parents house for a fajita dinner...
billy and i played legos with dominic and caught up with the family...

watched amazing race and desperate housewives...

home to bed...

ROSES & THORNS

I stole this idea from the beautiful Kristen. Love her and her blog!! I’m sure many of you know her already but if you don’t, stop over there and introduce yourself! She’s awesome!
I did my post a little different than she does…same concept though;)

* IT’S FRIDAY – nuff said!!
* Both of the attorneys I work for our out today! One of the guys I work for is out with the flu (not swine), he got a flu shot a month ago. What is the point of getting the flu shot if you are still going to get the flu anyway?!?
* I have plans Sunday to spend the entire day with one of my besties!
* I finally went to the doctor yesterday, I’m convinced there is something wrong with me.
* Someone found my blog by typing in “chocolate butt” on Google. HA!!
* My sweet fiancé came downtown to my office and took me out for lunch on Weds. This only happens once a year, it’s a haul to get downtown, you have to pay to park, then wait in line at a restaurant and pay a ridiculous price to eat….it was totally worth it though!! It was the perfect break in my work day! Love his face!
* I know I have mentioned before that I love my car and I have good reason, I drove my car an entire month on the same tank of gas! (Billy goes through more than enough gas in his SUV for the both of us though)
* Billy doesn’t have hockey tonight or tomorrow night, quality time for us!!
* I got to enjoy a wonderful dinner at Chilis with a great friend this week as well. Best chips and salsa ever!!

* Even though the two attorneys I work for are out, I have a TON of work to do today!
* Due to all the work I am totally behind on your blogs. I’ll be stalking anc commenting you all throughout the weekend to catch up on your lives!! Promise :)
* I ate like crap the entire week, so much for being healthy and working out.
* Getting weighed at the doctor’s office :( I’ve gained 6 pounds since I stopped working out 2 months ago! UGH!!! I am going to start hitting the gym again very soon, I have to!
* I gave in to diet mt. dew and splenda in my coffee.
* Due to the splenda I’ve had major headaches all week.
* The commute to work seems to just keep getting longer. I get on my bus around 7:10 and I don’t get to my desk until 8:30. I count part of the commute as my working hours. Hopefully when the highway goes from 3 lanes to 5 lanes things will be much smoother and quicker.
* My Dad was supposed to get to go back to work last week after being laid off for around 8 months. Thankfully my Mom has a great job and my Dad has had unemployment the entire time, my Dad wants and needs to get back to work though. Please pray that he gets a call this weekend letting him know there is a position open and he can go back!

I didn’t know if I wanted to list this as a rose or thorn so this little story gets its own section. After the doctor last night I didn’t feel like cooking. Billy had hockey until 8:30 so I decided to grab some lime beers and another gourmet meal of fried chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy. I went through the drive through and the girl at the pay window asked me what high school I go to. I told her that I was 26, not in high school. She looked like she didn’t believe me. I go to the next window to pick up the food and the guy working says, she thinks you go to her high school. I told him the same thing, no I’m 26. He goes yeah I figured you had to at least be 21 with that pack of beer sitting on the floor right there. I forgot that I had sat the beer on the passenger side of my car on the floor. Not that it matters but if I was in high school and 16/17 years old I doubt I would have beer noticeably sitting in my car. Anywho, I don't think I look that young but I'll take looking the age of a high schooler as a compliment ;) hehe....

Overall, I had a great week!! Hope you all did too!!

chocolate butt

setting the scene...
it's monday night.
billy had hockey and got home around 9:00.
neither of us felt like cooking so we threw in a frozen pizza.
we both poured ourselves an adult beverage.
then hopped up on the counters to chat.
18 minutes later the timer goes off.
the pizza was not done.
the cheese was hardly melted.
we left the pizza in the oven cook longer.
10 minutes later i open the oven and it barely seems warm.
i turn the temp up and it starts getting hotter right away.
the pizza cooks another 10 minutes.
finally, after 45 minutes of cooking the darn thing is done.
(note to self, call to get oven checked out)
we sit down to enjoy our gourmet meal.
i eat one piece of pizza.
then i notice gus is not anywhere to be seen giving us the "please feed me" eyes.

this could mean one of two things.
he is sleeping on the couch (not likely).
OR he is laying somewhere with poop stuck on his bum.
i go looking for him and find him at the top of the stairs.
he has watery eyes and looks sad.
darn it...
he has a poopy butt!

poor gus, his hair grows so quick that this tends to happen right before he is due for a haircut. (which is scheduled for this coming monday)
i pick him up, bring him to the bathtub and start spraying.
billy comes up and is all EW, it smells SO gross in here.
asking - does gus have a chocolate butt?!
he then says, how about you go eat your dinner and i'll finish bathing gus.
um, yeah i'm not going to be eating the rest of my pizza.
the smell and the sight of crap stuck on his booty has made my appetite go away.
i let him take over with the scrubbing of gussy's bum though.

i cleaned up our dinner dishes and put the leftover pizza away.
then i got to enjoy the show gus puts on once he is out of the bathtub.
he acts as if bath water puts crack in his system.
he goes insane.
tearing through the house.rubbing his face on the carpet.
rolling in circles on the towel.digging up the blankets on the bed.
his heart was going a million miles an hour.he finally laid down on his big pillow, under a blanket and crashed.
billy decided to put some of his manly smelling shower gel on gus so now gus and him smell the same. if only there was something to do about gus' death breath! ;)

FRIDAY

took a little nap with my B...
then billy had hockey...
i cleaned and did all the laundry...
watched ELF 3 times...
cooked a spaghetti dinner...
caught up on blogs...
finally ate din around 11...
watched the WILD hockey game we had recorded from earlier...
called it a night...

SATURDAY
slept in...
???
i don't know what i did during the day...
i went to my parents around 4...
we set up lots of appetizers...

dominic refused to dress up in his monkey costume...

got my extra hour of sleep...

had a mini interview for a sitting job...
i want some extra cash through the holidays...

it went perfect and my sis and i are going to be splitting the hours...

the family has 3 little cuties...

my sis and i ran some errands....

had lunch....

then i needed a nap (ha!)...

woke up and watched some of the vikings game...

that evening billy and i went to my parents house for dinner...

watched amazing race and desperate housewives...

then called it a night...
