it's that time of the year.....

I don't know if I would consider myself a clean freak or not but I'm one of those people that doesn't mind cleaning or doing the laundry one bit, nor do I mind doing it every day.
Billy works almost every day and when he's not working he is coaching hockey.
I like to be able to help out around the house whenever I can.
Our house might not always be squeaky clean but it does always look cleaned up!

At KELLY'S KORNER
This week the show us your life is all about cleaning tips.
It’s finally SPRING
so that means it’s time to tackle Spring Cleaning!!

I made a 6 page detailed list of everything I wanted to complete for our big Spring clean and I’ve gotten about half of it done!
Billy took care of all the outdoor cleaning, including cleaning both of our cars!
The list I made is way too long to post on here but if you are interested in seeing it, let me know!

When it comes to basic cleaning tips the only tip I have is clean EVERY DAY!
Whether it be dusting, cleaning the floors, organizing something.
If I do this I don’t have to spend hours on the weekend cleaning.

I can't stand things being "out of place".
I think everything has a "home".
Whenever B can't find something he always asks me where said thing is ;)
I don’t like things being left so I’m always putting stuff in it’s place.
I’m the furthest from a packrat as one can be.
I tend to throw a lot out or put stuff in a garage sale/donation bin.

A few other tips….

*I try to do at least a load of laundry every night so on the weekends I don’t have 6-8 loads of laundry to do, that would take an entire day/night.
I use the weekends to put away the clothes I’ve washed during the week.

*I try to get everything cleaned up at night before we go to bed or before I leave for work in the morning so we both can come home to a neat and tidy home.

*B wakes up and leaves for work after me so he makes the bed every morning!

*We always load the dishwasher after meals, if we use pots and pans one of us will wash and the other will dry and put away. The counters are wiped down more than once a night as well. That way the kitchen is always cleaned up.
* I love the magic eraser cleaners! Those work great on our bathtub and bathroom sinks!
* Swiffer dusters are great for cleaning our wooden blinds which always seem extra dusty and a pain in the booty to keep clean.

If you have cleaning tips, I'd love to hear them!
Happy Friday!!
I'm caught up on work and off to read some blogs :)

I am the exact same way as you- everything has its place and everything gets washed and put away when it has been used and I don't mind doing it one bit!

We are similar in the fact that we like to keep things clean. I sleep better when things are done and put where they belong and i wake up in better mood when the house is clean...

I seriously would like to see the list! I was thinking about making one of my own. Would you mind emailing it to me? carabeth.buie@gmail.com

You are a girl after my own heart! Everything has a "home" at my place too! There is nothing better than coming home to a clean house (well a few things..but a clean house is definetely in the top 10!)

Wow, ROLE MODEL! I wish I could be so organized and clean. I clean a little bit everyday but the Hubby leaves a path of distruction in his wake when he leaves for work, or goes to the gym. But you're right, cleaning a bit everyday does keep things looking nice all the time. My kitchen is usually always clean, and the main living room....but our den, bathroom, and bedroom can be quite a mess...and I don't even TOUCH my Husband's man cave! LOL I gave up on that battle months ago :)

I am the same way as you are - everything has its home, I hate clutter, I don't like keeping stuff just to have "stuff"! What is your six page-er? I am so curious!

Sammmme way about clutter.. HATE IT. I find that my clothes tend to take over my place unless I do regular laundry. right now I'm struggling b/c I dont have a dresser yet (buying one in a couple weeks) sooo I'm living out of boxes and it's not exactly tidy.. hah..

My spring cleaning will DEFINITELy include washing out my car. It needs a vacuum more than anything right now!

Great tips. I do a little cleaning everyday and pick up after myself to avoid a huge mess that needs to be tackled later. I also clean my kitchen after every meal, I hate having dirty pots and pans lying around and I definitely do not like messy counters :)

I am the same way! Our house always looks clean and neat, but it might need a scrub every once in a while!

Annie, I'm just like you! I hate clutter and everything has its place in my house. Thank you for the tips! Have a Great Day!

Wow, that must be some list. I should make a list too so hubby can understand when I say the house is filthy even though at first glance it looks clean.

We do a little cleaning each day. One day may be all the toilets, another all the sinks. I'm like you in that I try to do some laundry during the week too.

At least once a month (ok, sometimes every other) we do a major clean, top to bottom & get every nook & cranny!

Happy Friday!

That makes me want to clean! The lady that I work for (she owns an in-home daycare) does not put things away. I actually did dishes and cleaned a little when she was gone this past week because it was driving me crazy. Our house is always clean and I'm not used to a cluttered house!

Good luck with the spring cleaning!

Sounds like you are very clean and tidy and I am the same way! I think I need to improve on my laundry - I wait far too long and then have 3-6 loads, yikes! Happy spring cleaning! :)

I just came across your blog and I LOVE it! I love spring cleaning. I make it a priority...or should I say I make my hubby do it...to pull out the oven, fridge, and washer and dryer so I can clean underneath them. Its always a great time to get the places cleaned that don't get the daily/weekly cleaning. I also like to clean my cabinets out and wipe down everything thoroughly. This usually happens a couple times a year though. Can't wait to read more of your blogs!
