some more baby item favorites...

i know have a done a post about items cullen/i use for him on an almost daily basis so i thought i would do another since i didn't include all of our favorites!

cullen LIVED on and LOVED his play mat from one month on!  he laid on his play mat almost every morning.  i would nurse him then lay him on his mat while i pumped and did dishes and started laundry.  we had the foam mat under the play mat (and sometimes a blanket) because i thought it made it much more comfy.  after a couple of months cullen was always reaching for the toys on his mat so i changed the toys on the mat with some of the lamaze toys.  cullen also loved the music and lights on his playmat!

i have to say the lamaze toys can be a little spendy (for a rattle) but they are totally worth it!!  we had 5 of them and i feel we certainly got our money's worth.  i am passing them onto baby holden :)  along with our play mat!  i hope he can enjoy them just as much as cullen did!
jacque the peacock, mortimer the moose, captain calamari, rusty robot and stretch the giraffe.
these toys are perfect for clipping on the carry cradle as well!

another item cullen used almost daily from 3 months on was his bumbo!  cullen could sit very well in it and since he started cereal at 3 months it was the perfect spot to feed him!  we also had the tray and we would sit toys on it for him, he pushed them off a lot but we had suction toys and we would connect other toys to it.  it was also the perfect little chair for him to sit in while we were outside on the deck.  we would set it on the table next to us.  cullen also used the bumbo at my parents house for quite a few months, it was perfect place for him to sit and eat dinner in.  the bumbo is so light weight and easy to move around anywhere.

i mentioned our play foam mat above and i don't think i posted on that previously but i for sure think that was worth the money as well!  we have no carpet in our house, only hardwood so this mat was perfect for the play area in our living room. i found ours at babies r us, it was originally $25 and on sale for $19.99! that was a steal of a deal!  i have  retired it but cullen used it every day for at least 6 months.  now cullen is all over the place ;)  i don't know why but the playmat at buybuybaby is $59!! don't buy it there ;) all the pictures below and so many more were taken on our foam mat.

one last item we used all the time and still do, this rocking chair!
it vibrates and has straps.  it was nice to use when cullen was a few months old because i could rock him in it and he would sleep for hours! we still use it today, with the kick stand.  it tips back so cullen can drink bottles in it or just hang out in it.  he pulls up on it all the time as well, he loves standing. it's light weight so it has been moved all around the house.  my best friend had one for her little guy and she swore by it so i had to get one and i'm glad i did :) cullen doesn't nap in his crib during the day because the other baby i watch sleeps in there so he either naps in his pack n play or the chair. we use it as much now as we did many months ago.  also, i almost forgot it has a little toy thing that goes across the top!  i used to bring the chair into the bathroom so i could shower and cullen would hang in the chair and play with the toys.

more things we used every day the boppy, swing and jumper!
some things we didn't use include a diaper wipe warmer, a diaper genie or a nap nanny.

Spring Break Earth's Best GIVEAWAY!

CLOSED
Spring Break Travel

How many of you will be traveling soon?  If by car sometimes the trips can get quite long and kids (and parents) get restless.  What better way to pass time on a road trip (or airplane) than to have some fun along the way!

Spring break trips with your kids are a wonderful opportunity to spend some quality time with them, away from other daily distractions. A little undivided attention from Mom or Dad can go a long way toward a little person's happiness!

Here are some fun ideas for car and air travel:

*Get a good song book with all the lyrics
It surprising how many songs you think you know to which you really don't  know all the words. Have a singing marathon and learn the old classics by heart.
*Rest Stop Athletics
Keep a frisbee or jump rope in the back of your car or van, along with a picnic blanket so when you stop at a rest area, everyone can run and be free and stretch their legs.
*Pipe Cleaner Creatures
Use fuzzy pipe cleaners to create all kinds of creatures that kids can also use for creative play. This activity can keep kids busy at the airport, on the plane or even when you get to your destination!

One key to easier spring break travel is providing your children with quick, portable, mess-free snacks, eliminating the potential of a sticky child stuck for hours in an airplane seat or car seat. Try Earth's Best Sunny Days Snack Bars and Earth's Best Crunchin' Crackers!  The crackers are made from organic wheat flour and fortified with calcium, iron, zinc and six B Vitamins. These snacks contain no hydrogenated oil, trans saturated fats, artificial flavors, colors or preservatives, and your kiddos will love them!
Cullen has had the strawberry snack bars and he loves them!

happy 11 months sweet baby C...

i can not believe our tiny baby is such a big boy and will be ONE in just a month....

this picture cracks me up!! ha!

always on the move...

all these pictures were taken this morning on his actual 11 month birthday :)  cullen is at such a fun age right now, such a little explorer!  i'm not sure why my camera makes his skin have an orange (tan) tint to it.  the saturation setting on my camera must be way off. his hair does have a hint of red in it, some days it looks strawberry blonde and some days it looks brownish with red hint.  depends on what he wears.  but he still has his baby blue eyes!  billy and i both have hazel eyes more towards brown than green.

i have been doing some party planning for cullen's first birthday and i have some giveaway's/discounts coming up so if you are planning a party for your little one watch for those posts! i will be doing one on friday, i think.... ;)  since we are in the process of possibly moving soon i can't decide if i want to wait and have cullen's birthday at our potential new home or just plan to have the party at my parents house.  some many decisions.... and i'm the most indecisive person ever!  it won't be a huge party but i do want to make it extra special for our booboochicken!

iphone photo dump...

i think my monday posts from now on will all be iphone pics i've taken from the previous week...

thursday i took both babies on a wagon ride! they loved it!  it was so nice to get outside.  i had to dress baby A in some of cullen's stuff because it was a bit chilly outside, she didn't seem to mind ;)

on friday i didn't have baby A so i took C to the zoo with a friend of mine!

baby C all ready to go...

and momma A all ready to go...
C and I both had to take off our hoodies right when we got to the zoo, it was so warm outside!! It was the perfect day to go to the zoo, it was beautiful out and it wasn't too busy.

this crazy monkey kept jumping at the glass and hitting his head!  it made such a loud noise, it could not have felt good.  and it was kind of scary...

Cullen's goodies from the giftshop, a light up wand and a onesie to wear for our next trips to the zoo.  I only bought C that wand because another little boy had one and when the boy walked near C, C took the wand out of the boys hands.  I figured he could have his own crazy wand toy ;)
the zoo had a new memphis style place to eat at so i had to try it.  my friend and i both got drumsticks with tangy memphis sauce, they were delicious!!
i ate them all!

i came home to this...
i guess B was ready to party!!
we had a drink on the deck and B grilled steaks for dinner!

C was in his walker and since we were gone all day he missed his favorite show, bubble guppies. so we brought the laptop outside for C to watch his show...
C ran laps in his walker while enjoying puffcorn and guppies!
we were all asleep by 10, party animals over here ;)

saturday was st. patty's day, here's my little lucky charm...

i went to the gym and then C and i went to visit my bestie at the hospital, she had her baby girl camryn on friday! :)  she was absolutely precious!

by night time it was 80 degrees in our house!
C had to be stripped down to a diaper, he was so sweaty...
C likes to nibble on his toesies...
love this sweet, sleepy naked baby....

and that's all i've got for today, hope ya'll had a great weekend!!
