it's crazy, just knowing that the world is round...

and i'm here dancing on the ground...
am i right side up or upside down...
is this real or am i dreaming...
(love those DMB lyrics, they have nothing to do with my post, ha)

okay, i know i owe a wedding update to ya'll....
a lot has changed in our lives in the past 6 or so weeks.
so we figured why not change our wedding date as well.

we are getting married in under 2 months!
i'm working on a budget of $500.
we are no longer having a reception/party.
we are sticking with our very small ceremony.
just parents and siblings.
they are the people who mean the most to us.

i have my dress.
my shoes.
those are the two most important things, right?!

with my $500 budget, i need....
a bouquet (they are expensive!!)
a garter and i'm working with someone on etsy to get just what i want for a great price.
small cake.
i have a photographer booked, she is giving us an awesome deal!
also need a few decorations (ordered).
gus needs his tux (will be ordered asap).
marriage license.

not included in the budget...
whatever billy decides to wear.
rings!
food for a casual dinner after the ceremony.
a friend of ours got ordained for us and will be marrying us! :)

i could be forgetting something....life is crazy busy these days!!

as for me being "OK" with all of this.
well, of course i am!!
the point of a wedding is to get married to the person you want to spend your life with, your soul mate!
i am head over heals in love with my billy and i can't wait to be his wifey!

here is me today...

happy as a clam :)
i love my earings and top...
guess who else is a happy little guy.... GUSSY BEAR!!
he is back to his normal self and playing babies and running the house!
he is off his pain meds that were making him loopy and now on an antibiotic since the other dog bit him.
accidents happen, we are just so glad to have our little boogie healthy and happy!

that's all for today...
happy thursday friends!! :)

p.s.
diet coke, where have you been all my life?!
i'm totally addicted to you!

Girl we got married in a very simple ceremony with family doing our photography and my Grandma's cooking dinner for everyone at my parents house. It was a big wedding but well under $2000 and we're hitting our 13 years in three weeks. The marriage isn't about the wedding anyways and I love that you know that!!! It will be so special for you both!!! I can't believe it's two months away!!! Can't wait to see photos.

You are gorgeous and Gus looks super happy!!! XOXO

Your wedding sounds great! The most important thing is to have those that are near and dear to you to celebrate your day! LOVE the outfit!! You are just as pretty as ever!

Love, love, love your outfit! When Hubbs and I got married we bumped from Aug. 07 to Aug. 06! EEKS! We had 2 months total from start to finish for dress, who was in the wedding, and all that jazz. Thankfully we have amazing parents to help out, but we got married in the gym of my mom's church and had a VFW reception! Cheap but I wouldn't change a thing, well maybe a few things :) But you are right, what else matters besides exchanging your vows with someone you cannot wait to spend your life with? NOTHING! I am so happy for you both!!!!!

WOW!! Just under 2 months! That is going to be here before you know it and you will be a WIFEY!!! Sooooo excited for you! I hope that you are able to find some great deals on everything you need. We had just a few of our closest friends and our family at the wedding. I could have actually done without a few of the guests HA!!! It will be beautiful and a wonderful day for the two of you!

Glad little Gussy is back to normal! LOVE that top!

love that outfit! you look so pretty! :) and that's so smart to go to etsy for the garter! never even would have thought of that!

Super cute outfit. So many people get wrapped up in planning the most extravegant wedding that they lose sight of what the day is really about. I think your wedding sounds perfect.

You look so happy! I love that top. Where is it from?
My hubby and I went back and forth between a small wedding or a big one. In the end we realized that a wedding is about two people starting a life together and we had a small ceremony on the beach with a handful of family and friends. It was more meaningful and intimate that way
and we had a budget too. So it can be done!
Good luck with getting everything ready. Two more months. That's so exciting

Girl, no matter what, the day is about ya’ll… and know it’s going to be very special!!! Will be here before you know it! So exciting!! :)

Congrats lady! You're going to be beautiful & you're right - the most important part is that you'll be marrying the man you want to spend the rest of your life with. The other stuff is just extra.

You look so beautiful in these pictures! Love the earrings. :)

Glad the pup is doing better!! I love your outfit for today!!

I planned my wedding in 2 weeks and it was a small setting, maybe about 70 people. I am so glad we didn't do a huge one, because I was able to celebrate with my most dear friends and family and not have to think about entertaining people! Best decision I have ever made! Granted we did it this quick because we had our daughter 6 weeks before getting married and the priest at my husbands church wanted us to get married before baptizing the baby. I couldn't be happier he suggested this though!!

Good for you and good luck with your budget, I am positive you can do it!

You or a friend could totally make your bouquet, I made my sis one for prom and it was so easy!!! Just need some floral tape and wire! Congrats on your plans, it will be beautiful!

Diet Coke, actually Pepsi, is my weakness! It's terrible :-(

You look so cute today!! And Gus is just adorable. I can't wait to see him in his Tux haha.

A budget isn't what makes the wedding. It's all about the love and celebration :-) $500 or $5000 - two people in love are celebrating! I'm sure it's going to be fabulous either way!

Sounds perfect! My parents had a small wedding like that, 12 people, went out to dinner afterwards, it was a wonderful time by all accounts! Make sure you have someone to snap photos for you - a friend would do it for free! Yay!! So exciting!!

you're looking super cute! When my husband and I got married we worked with a very small budget too. Got married in a small chapel in our church's education building with only family present, and then had a small get together afterwards with friends. Nothing formal, not even a dress! I agree with you, we wanted to get married to each other, that's what mattered most!

Ok sweetie-I have been MIA for a long time. How did the $500 budget happen? You can do it! I wish I lived near you, I used to plan weddings. Your bouquet...do you have a really crafty friend who could do it? I have made some for friends weddings...just get the flowers you want, white satin ribbon and pearl pins or another type of pins. The cake...those are expensive. I would suggest searching on craig's list for a housewive who is wanting to start a bakery from her home. TRY the cake first:)

Jax said...

Budget smudget! You kick butt! And you look STUNNING, girlie! I've been having a hard time keeping up with my bloggie.. sorry for my mia-ness.. we were engaged for over a year and then when c decided to go into the military we put our wedding together on a $800 budget (less the dress/rings) and threw it together in two weeks...was it a dream wedding...no...but the folks we loved most were there and looking back it's not at all what was important!! it will be great day because of what it means to you...not what center pieces you have or food you serve!!

Brittany said...

YOU HAVE THE RIGHT IDEA!!!!!

People spend way too much time worrying about the wedding, and not enough time on the marriage! YOU are sooo smart! I am sure it will be even more special and intimate because it is only the people you care about.

When I get married (after meeting someone that is..) it will be a tiny wedding.. (with a big reception.. cook out! Seriously, I want to bbq and camp out after my wedding. lmao!)

SO excited for you! Can't wait to see all the pictures!!!!

Brittany said...

p.s. you're so beautiful you'd make a paper bag look good! :)

Your wedding plans are coming along great! I loved that you began your post with Crush lyrics. That happens to be the song John and I danced to at our wedding for our first dance. It was awesome but we never realized how long it was until we danced to it in front of a bunch of people watching us.

Your top is beyond amazing! AND, I have to throw in my opinion because I did the same exact thing and it was the best thing I did. We had a date set in our mind, didn't have invites out etc, but did a spur of the moment 10 person wedding ceremony (I had a dress, bouquet, etc) and then we had a big reception later. It was non stressful and perfect. Best of luck!

I am so happy for you and I know that your big day will be special no matter what. You’re focusing on what’s most important and that is marrying Billy and being surrounded by your loved ones. I give you a lot of credit for staying within your budget while still making everything nice.

You look gorgeous in these photos, pretty lady and I love your top!

You outlook on the whole marriage/wedding is awewome. It's crazy how sometimes the details of the wedding can overshadow the actual event and the reason for it.

Oh, and I am LOVING your white pants! I have bought several pairs lately and can't get over them. The shape of yours is comfy and sexy all at the same time!
