after ceremony dress....

i could NOT get a good picture of my after ceremony dress...
bottom, big roses...

it is short, strapless and ties in the back...
the pictures really do it no justice and i can't find a picture online.
the entire dress is white even though in this picture below the top looks creamish. its not.

other random wedding stuff...

i decided to not have the ceremony on the deck by the pool.
there is just too much going on by the pool so we are going to move the metal frame canopy to the backyard behind the fenced in pool.  it will go between 2 trees and still have the paper lanterns hanging from the top. i might add some little lanterns to the trees.  i think the flowers and trees my parents have in their backyard will make for a much nicer scenery in the photos than pool floaties and random signs that say "it's 5:00 somewhere" and "no shirt, no shoes, no problem".  haha...

new date - AUGUST 14
4:30 or 5:00
i'm undecided on the time.  since it's just parents and siblings i can hold off deciding a tiny bit longer.

hair...
my "real extensions" that i have had in my hair are NOT going to last over another month.
they are actually ready to come out now.
my hair is short and i want long hair for my wedding day.
so i will be wearing my clip-in extensions and still getting my hair done professionally.
i'm not sure if i want to wear something in my hair yet.
i know i want to wear a fuchsia clip-in flower after the ceremony with my dress above.

freak...
i'm a control freak (admitted) and i know the day of the ceremony i'm going to want to set everything up to make sure it is perfect to me.
this is not a beautiful, over the top traditional wedding but what we are doing works for us because we are simple people and i just want everything to look as good as possible, as any bride would.
with a hair appt and getting ready and pictures before the ceremony i don't know how much time i'll have day of to set things just how i want them. gives me anxiety ;)

i do have have off from work a few days before the wedding so i'm going to do as much as i possibly can and i plan to be up at the crack of dawn day of to prep what i can.
making the bouquet makes me a little nervous but i know my mom and i can handle it.
the good thing is we won't really have anything to decorate because everything is going to be very simple.

what time do ya'll suggest doing pictures if the ceremony is at 4:30/5?
keeping in mind there is no wedding party but i will want family pics.

i had my heart set on having a candy buffet at our reception that we had previously planned so even though we are only going to have immediate family i'm still trying to sneak a little candy buffet in :)

i want to get a pink and or fuchsia dog leash for gus.
my mom got his tux sewn so it will fit him perfectly!

i also want to get pink/fuchsia socks for billy.
anyone know where to find some??
i have looked and not had any luck finding men's fuchsia socks. i know they are out there somewhere.  i have checked ebay.

okay, enough wedding chatter for now....
this turned into a very long post.
thanks for reading if you made it this far!! :)

p.s. there are about a million things going on at work and i'm behind on blog reading.  if i have missed something in your life lately feel free to leave it in the comment so i know what's going on with you!

Oh WOW. WHAT a fabulous after-wedding dress!!! We did going-away outfits after our reception-- we were going on a cruise, so Greg wore a hawaaiin shirt and I wore a white halter dress with little red polka dots. One of my favorite dresses to this day ;-) Hope you have a great day today, Annie!! Happy Friday Eve :-)

Gorgeous dress! I must say, I love what you are doing for your wedding. I know I've said it a million times but if I could do my wedding over again, I would do something much simpler and much cheaper. As far as socks, I'll keep my eye out for some for you!

I LOVE that dress! It's going to look so great on you! I used clip in hair extensions for my wedding and I loved how my hair turned out, you couldn't even tell.

I think moving the ceremony to the backyard is a great plan. I can't wait to see the pictures!!

Love the dress! So much fun! I was sad enough I only got to wear mine for one day so I wasn't a two dress bride, but I do love a lot of the cocktail options out there.

As for socks...have you tried David's Bridal or one of the tux shops? I know they carry the vests/ties/etc in about every color imaginable they might have socks. It's worth a shot!

Don't stress! It, and you, will be beautiful. As far as pics go... right after the ceremony, at the latest. The later it gets, the less light you'll have and the more the sun will be in the background of the pic instead of above. You also don't want to have everyone facing the sun because they'll be all squinty.

Your parents' pool area sounds a lot like my parents' gazebo, haha!

And for the pictures.. a great time to do them is just before the sunsets! =) It will look very romantic.

AND... your after dress is soooo... pretty!

Love, love, love that dress! It is gorgeous! I can't wait to see you in it. :) Don't say your wedding isn't going to be beautiful and lavish, it is going to be both. I like 4:30 but that is just because I think you'll be able to get more pictures with your family and such with good sunlight.

I love, love, love the candy buffet idea. It is such a fantastic sweet touch.

Oh and for a fushia leash for Gussy, google puppia harnesses. That is what we use for Noodle and they have the best colors! I am sure you can find whatever color you want. :)

You are almost a Mrs!

That is a gorgeous dress! I've missed reading your posts, but I'm back to blogging (finally) and excited to catch up.

I love that you're just having immediate family at your wedding. That would be my dream wedding. It's such a big moment, that I kind of just want the people closest to me to share in it. Can't wait to see more!

Socks: http://www.americanapparel.com/men-socks.html

Everything sounds great. Dress is super cute! If you want to do pictures before the ceremony give yourself about an hour if you don't have that many to take.

Here's the truth, things will go wrong on your wedding day. It just happens. Things go wrong every single day of our lives, and that day is no different. My dad stepped on my train when he gave me away. Everyone kept telling me that my dad stepped on my dress and I had no idea what they were talking about. I was so happy to be getting married that it didn't matter. I also had a grey smudge on my dress. We didn't know where it came from and luckily it was partially hidden by a pleat. I thought I would care, but once I saw Bryan, HE was the only thing I cared about. His best man was sweating uncontrollably during our ceremony and my cousin got drunk at the reception and threwup in one of the two elevators on one of my bridesmaids'feet. They had to shut down the elevator. The "Oops" moments are the ones you will look back at and laugh about. I'm a control freak too (hello you know how lawyers are), but the big picture is you and Billy are getting married :) Ok off my soap box. Have a great day :) You're wedding is so close!

I love your after ceremony dress! It's perfect! I am hoping that my wedding guests will be up to an "after party" so I can get an after dress too. Have you thought about dying a pair of white socks? You can get fabric dye and most craft & fabric stores!

the dress is PERFECT!!! awww annie you're going to look so perdy! hurry up with the wedding so we can ooh and ahh at all your pictures.

I adore that dress! And the best part is, you can wear it again!

Hillary said...

Love love the dress!!!
If you can't find the pink socks at the store Tara mentioned..you could
1. get some white ones and dye them. I know when my sister Hailey was gettin married she wanted her husband to wear red socks and we found some, but my mom was going to dye a pair. Plus- it would be really cheap and you could always do several pairs to get it JUST the way you like it.
Or
2. I have seen guys wear Argyle with the pink color in it. This guy had on a grey suit and the socks were purple and grey argyle. It was verrrry cute and just another option if you couldnt find the right pair. I would look at JCrew for those?
Hope that helps a bit!!

It sounds like it's all coming together! That dress is too cute! I bet you could find those socks online with a halloween company.

That is such a cute dress! I have to agree, simple is sometimes best. As fun as an extravagant wedding sounded, I'm so glad that we decided to just do an anniversary party instead because that alone was stressful enough!
It looks like you will have a beautiful day to share with your closest family members. In the end it's all about enjoying yourself and doing what makes you happiest. =]
I've missed reading your blog and I'm so glad to hear that all your wedding plans are going well. Don't worry about catching up! I don't even want to admit how far behind I am!

Love the dress!

Maybe try to find extra big woman's socks?

I love the dress!

I think that your 4:30 start time is a good one, we started our wedding at 4:30 in the church and everyone, save for a few people, were on time and ready to go! People love weddings, so whenever is a good time for you, they will be there, especially since it's family!

As for Billy's socks, try looking at women's socks and see if you can find a Large in women's or look at specialty stores for women's shoes with size 11 and up, if Billy has big feet?

So exciting!!!

that dress is so cute, it will look amazing on you! For pictures I would say plan earlier, so you can be done with them and have a little to relax before the ceremony. Your dog in a tux will be so cute!

the dress is adorable! I think you should get most of your stuff done a few days beforehand that way you can ENJOY you're day! Also, if you want to see Billy beforehand, then do pics a few hours out, if not, then just do them right after the ceremony. Your wedding is going to be gorgeous!
