one day road trip...

hello pretty ladies!

i feel so out of the blogging loop lately.

between work, staying busy at home and intense workouts i've just kinda fallen off the wagon.

i feel bad posting when i can't keep up with ya'll but at the same time my blog is like a journal and it's mine so i'll do what i want ;)

i am going to attempt to start playing catch up today and the rest of the week on some blog readin'!

over the past weekend i made a day road trip with my parents and sister.  we hit the road around 6 a.m. and got to sioux falls, south dakota around 10 a.m.  we stopped by my aunts to visit for a few minutes and get ready for the day.  then we had some errands to run, i got to visit hobby lobby for a few minutes.  when you make a day trip you only get a few minutes everywhere you go ;)  i had a giant butter burger from culver's for lunch, it was just what the treadmill ordered.  actually saturday was my one day off from the gym and it was a perfect day off. although i might have eaten too much of everything i got my hands on, including more than one cupcake...ha!

more errands after lunch and then we went to visit my grandparents, dad's parents.

my grandpa has been sick for quite a long time now.  he coughs so hard he has broken ribs but there is nothing to do to fix them.  he's only got about 15% of his lungs left and he seems to be withering away.  it was hard to see him like that.  he gave me a hug and kiss and told me he loved me and that was all i needed to hear and feel.  i don't want to say it was like me making peace with him knowing he could be gone soon but in a way it was.   he has to fight to breath and eat and just live daily.  i pray for him all the time, i know life is tough for him right now.  my grandma is in tip tip shape and she is there for him when she can be.  it was a short and sweet visit, i love my grandparents so very much.  my brother, sis and i actually lived with them for a while.  i'm very greatful for everything about them! :)

after visiting my grandparents we headed to my cousin's baby shower.

it was an all family shower, both sides of their family.

the shower was at a park and it was about 95 degrees outside.

thankfully there was a shelter to eat and hang out under.

my cousin's wife's mom got a puppy and for some reason had it there, we felt so bad for the little lady since it was so hot out...she was SO cute and we needed pics with her...

they are having a baby boy, bentley, in less than a month!

i'm so excited for them...

after the party we headed out of town, back home...

another 4 hours in the car.

i got home around 11, just in time to crawl into bed and fall asleep with my two boys.

sunday billy and i hung out at my parents's house for family fun-day sunday ;)
