One Week...

I can't believe a whole week has already gone by since I had Cullen!
The birthing process is seriously amazing and like my husband said, if you didn't believe in God before experiencing the miracle of birth you certainly would after.
I will never, ever forget that day.
Hands down...
best.day.of.my.life.
I know billy feels the exact same way.
It's like our life together feels complete now.
Before Cullen it was as if something was missing.
Billy and I have wanted a family for years.
We didn't even care about being married first.
I actually found out I was pregnant right after our wedding.

The love we have for our baby boy grows more and more every day.
I have never just looked at someone and cried because the love I have just over powers me.
Life has changed for us, for the very best!
I couldn't be happier and more proud to finally be a Mommy!
AND Billy is the best Daddy ever!!
He helps me with anything and everything whenever he is home.
He has had to work a bit every day and we really miss him when he's away.
My Mom has been helping us a lot, she took a week off of work and has been making us meals and spending hours visiting with us every day/evening.

Happy one week Birthday to our precious little Culley Bear!

because everyone loves baby feet...
and toes...
Your Momma and Daddy Bear will always love you baby Cullen!

BABY STATS

Sleep:  Cullen has no real sleep patterns right now.  I'd say he sleeps around 20 hours a day/night.

Hair:  was very blonde when he was born and is getting darker every day.  for some reason it appears kind of redish in these pics.

Eyes:  dark blue and changing every day, today they look almost navy.

Feed:  Nursing is going really well.  We gave Cullen a pacifier on Tuesday night and he slept like a champ although feeding seemed more difficult on Wednesday.  That might be because of the paci.  I'm debating whether or not to continue giving it to him.
I think I will start pumping next week.

Weight:  At birth he was 6 pounds 14 ounces.
He dropped 6 ounces by the time we left the hospital and he is now weighing 7 pounds 3 ounces.

Length:  Last checked he was 19 and 3/4 inches

Milestones: Becoming more and more alert.  I love when I'm holding him and I talk, he just stares at me.  If Billy starts talking he turns his head and just stares at him.
Cullen also seems really strong for a little guy, he is pretty good at controlling his head/neck himself.

MOMMY STATS

Pre-Pregnancy weight: 115
Day of delivery weight: 153 (estimated)
Current weight: 136
Weight to go: 21 pounds

38 week picture:

Today:

I am for sure hormonal and emotional.  I cry easily and little things make me sad.  I hope this passes quick, I don't feel like not feeling like myself.  I only cried a couple times while pregnant and I've already cried a handful of times since last week.
I need to start writing up the birth story while it's still fresh in my mind.

We have newborn pictures today!!
The girl will be over soon to take the pics :)

BTW, I was only able to type this all up on Thursday evening because my parents were over :)
I am so THANKFUL for all their help and support.
We watch Survivor and have dinner every Thursday night.

He is adorable, E's hair always turned out redish in her newborn pics too, but its not.

You look great.. if your nursing the weight will come off easy don't sweat it. I gave E a paci.. and had a bit of nursing difficulty for two days after but then she was fine.. nursed great, and also takes a paci

All the cliches about parenthood are true, aren't they? :)

We never gave our son a paci b/c I figured it was one less thing we had to worry about weaning later on. I had an awful time nursing. Lansinoh didn't cut it for me. My situation needed prescription cream. But I stuck in there and it was so worth it.

Don't worry too much about the weight. It'll all come off in time. I gained 50 lbs with my first pregnancy and still managed to get down to my fighting weight. Besides, mommy needs fat to make milk for the baby!

Congratulations!

I was not ready for the overflow of emotions the first 2-3 weeks after my son was born in January. I cried over EVERYTHING, and it wasn't just crying, it was BAWLING. :\ It disappeared after about the 3rd week or so, though, thankfully.

Your little guy is adorable. I had a c-section, and when I got home, I had 15 lbs. to lose yet. The first 3 weeks, I lost all but 10 lbs, and now I'm down to 3...almost 4 months after. You'll lost it quick! :)

*lose it quick...sorry, typo! ;)

He is absolutely adorable and you look great. I had the "baby blues" after having Aleigha & within a week or 2 it was gone. I cried at the drop of a hat. So you are not alone but hopefully it will be gone soon for you!

He is just beautiful! I'm so happy for you! Congratulations.

You are SO brave to put up post-partum pics. I took a picture every week I was pregnant, but After that, my midsection didn't appear in another picture for weeks. Maybe I won't be so chicken next time.

And the crying thing, yeah. I'm 7 months post partum (but still BFing a lot, which effects it), and I still cry at the drop of a hat.

Congratulations!!! He is so handsome and you look amazing!! I think it's so great that you're writing all these memories and stats down- one of my biggest regrets is that I didn't start blogging until Spencer was one and I only wrote in her baby book. I wish I had written down all the little things I was feeling and the daily changes she was making, things that aren't part of a standard baby book. Can't wait to hear the birth story!

The first post partum weeks, I was crying ALL THE TIME! I was starting to worry about PPD. thankfully it went away. Those hormones can really mess with you.

You look great, and I'm sure you'll be back to your happy self soon! Hang in there and accept all the help you can get, so you can focus on your baby and getting as much sleep as possible! :)

Amen sista, God is Wonderful and will bless you beyond measures if you just believe girl!! Ha!! ..I can't get over how ADORABLE he is! You look great to have just had a baby for only a week. You'll be back to yourself emotionally & physically in no time . Hold your head up and stay positive! Enjoy baby Cullin while he's tiny, they truly grow right before your eyes! Didn't realize how true this was until I looked at my son & realized he'll be 3 this year! CRAZY!

I totally agree that childbirth and labor is the most AMAZING thing ever....seriously a miricle! Cully is the cutest thing ever. I am so happy to hear that you are adjusting to being a mommy so easily!!

Dana said...

He is beautiful Annie!!! And you look great for having just given birth!!! Childbirth is the most amazing thing ever. I was pretty emotional the first few weeks after I had my son also and it does go away. I just felt that overpowering love for my son and I couldn't help but teary eyed every time I held him or looked at him. Glad everything is going so well for you!

Lori said...

I was extra emotional the first month but then after that I was back to myself, I would say even better than myself pre pregnancy!! It will come soon! I think the messed up schedule does not help either.
The beginning part of this post gave me chills all over. You descibed the love of your child so amazingly!!
