time for a change?

i am in LOVE with turquoise these days.
i have an itch to redo mine and billy's bedroom, it's been the same for the past 2.5 years and that's a long time...
it might be a bit crazy but i would L.O.V.E. to have something very similar to this....
billy is not opposed to this which is the crazy part ;)
it would be a lot of work though.
in order to save money, i'd want to paint our bedroom furniture (that i've had for 8 years) black. i know that would be a huge project but it might be kind fun.
i have a million other ideas running through my head if this bedroom transformation were to happen, it's just a big decision so i'll just keep pondering the idea for now.

love all the details of the rooms below as well!!
i'd use them all for inspiration!
the white tree wall decal really pops on this blue...
i would have to have a mirror like this one...
zebra rug, i heart it...
loving the color of these walls!
this picture wall with the tree on the wall behind the pictures looks amazing.
color of this head board is fabulous
i would want this chandelier!
i wouldn't mind having this entire room either!!!

i'll let ya'll know if i actually work up the courage to take on such a huge project!
unless one of you wants to come do it for me?! ;)

to change the subject....
i'm slightly bummed because i found out yesterday my ring can not have wedding bands. what kind of fancy designer creates a ring that can not have wedding bands matched up to it?!  what upsets me even more is the lady at the jewelry store showed me some bands lined up with my ring but it's only because the way she was holding the rings.  how it actually would look on my finger having the rings on looks really funny. i'll take a picture of what it would look like and post on it next week, hard to explain.  i have some options, not sure what i want to do but a decision needs to be made asap!

happy friday ladies!!

one of the hockey teams billy coaches is in a hockey tournament all weekend so wish them GOOD LUCK!!
i'll be having girl time all weekend with some girly friends :)

have a great weekend everyone!!

I LOVE the teal, black and white scheme! I sort of have that going on in my bathroom...I have a zebra shower curtain and Tiffany blue accents but I would LOVE to paint that teal color! You should totally go for it!

Cute ideas! My living room/kitchen/hallway are a bright blue (light turqouise) color and I love them... But I need help in adding stuff to the walls to finish the look!! :)

I also can sympathize with the ring situation. My ring didn't have a band that came with it, but I looked anyway at all the bands in the store and actually found one that went perfectly. It was cheaper and it looks great so don't get discouraged! I am sure you will figure something out!

do it! i have turquoise nails today!

Love the bedroom pics! I've been thinking of painting our bedroom furniture, too. We've had it since we got married over 11 year ago, so it's a bit out dated. I hate the thought of buying an entire new bedroom set, so painting is my next best option.

Keep us posted!!

Oh, and have you thought (I'm sure you have) of switching your engagement ring to your right hand and just going with the wedding band on your left? I have a friend who did that...

I love the rooms and the color-it will be fun to decorate~

As for your ring..mmm...I would shop around and see what you can come up with. Is your ring shaped so you can't match it up? I would search around. I had to have mine custom made and it was not ready for the wedding!! I wore a fake band from Walmart and no one even noticed. I got my wonderful band when I got back from my honeymoon and it was 75% cheaper than anything else. I LOVE IT.

I love the clean look of turquoise, black, and white together. I've seen some adorable chandelier decals that would look really good too!

I looked at a ring that wouldn't look right with a band. The shape of the diamond pushed the band too far away from the engagement ring. I was super depressed because I adored that ring!!

Caroline said...

Love the bedroom inspiration! Post pics if you decide to redecorate! That stinks about your ring! Hopefully you'll be able to find a band that will work! Have a good weekend!!

go for it!! I painted all my furniture black last year, it was'nt too bad!! my husband is doing baseball tournaments all weekend... ugh!! men!!!

Kristin said...

Might I pretend like I have an iota of design talent for a moment and suggest that if you paint your furniture, do not paint it all black. Maybe a piece or two, but if you did a black fabric headboard like the first picture, I think all the furniture being black would make the room look too heavy. Make sense? :)

Also, you can have a ring made to fit! It really shouldn't be much more, if at all, than just buying one.

I can't wait to see your bedroom redo. I can't believe BB isn't against it! That is fantastic. Now you are planting a bug in me to want to redo my room...thanks. ;)

awww im so sorry.... I have heard of this happening a lot to girls lately. When I told Spencer about what I wanted I told him that it needed to be easy to pair a band with, and we still had problems with having a small gap. I hope you find something!

PS-GORGEOUS bedrooms!!! I love using bright pops of color!

Hey girlie you have an award over at my blog!

My mom actually had her bands made... her original engagement ring and bands fit right inside the new bands so that they wrap around on either side... might be a little pricey but it's an option! Good luck!

LOVE all of those! I think you should go for it :-)

I am a huge fan of turquoise too!! And it goes with so many other colors too like red, pink, yellow, orange, green, the list goes on and on! Some turquoise pillows is a great way to get started and add a pop of color. I saw some at Wal-mart not long ago for under $10!! Let us know what you do and show pics of your progress! Change is always nice!

I love turquoise too...and lately want everything to be turquoise, yellow or coral. This is coming from a girl who used to want everything in black or gray.. haha.. :) And i painted my bed black this year! It wasn't that hard at all! I sanded mine down, then got primer, but had the guy at the lowes mix the primer with a little black to make it a grayish (and thereby eliminate the need for tons of coats of black). Then, I painted the bed.. and it only took two coats. The drying part was the hardest/longest. But I love the result!! GO for it!

Jax said...

(oh and major bummer about the ring... sorry girl.. :( hoping to hear that you've found a perfect band that WILL fit!)

ChinkyGirLMeL said...

Hmmm...this post actually has me liking turquoise now too. I like that 6th picture.

Bummer about your ring and hope you come up with a good solution! Also...love the turquoise so much! I've been trying to figure out how to decorate my new apt and right now the colors I have are black and white. I think I am going to ad turquoise to it, whohoo! Thanks for the inspiration girl, you should totally decorate too!
